Despite the simmering political temperatures, ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to share podium with Deputy President William Ruto before the end of this month.

Early this week, Raila dismissed claims that he is weary of Ruto's continued onslaught in his strongholds especially at the coast.

"The Tuesday's meeting has nothing to do with onslaught in our strongholds. The meeting had been organised long in May," read a statement sent by spokesman Dennis Onyango.

And in the impending burial of Nyamira county boss John Nyagarama's son, Ndemo Nyagarama, the two leaders have been invited by the burial committee.

While the exact date is yet to be issued, It has however been tentatively placed on June 29th following the request of the governor.

"The governor is keen to have both Raila and Ruto in the funeral as part of the process of uniing Kenyans. They have both been invited," said a member of the burial committee.

It will be the first major meeting between the two in a public gathering besides the National Prayer meeting in May.

The governor's son succumbed to acute meningitis early this week which is said to have precipitated cardiac arrest.

Already, Gideon Moi's Kanu has revealed the ongoing talks on a possible collaboration with Raila's ODM ahead of 2022 polls.
