Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga has called upon Kenyans tired of Jubilee to turn up in large numbers and register as voters.
This is to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the August polls.
Raila said the mass voter registration exercise which kicks off on Monday will mark the beginning of the journey to liberate the country from bad leadership.
“We are going to war and we are calling upon our supporters to arm themselves with the necessary weapon, which is a voter’s card, to send the Jubilee home,” Raila was quoted by The Standard.
Speaking during the burial of renowned scholar Prof Rok Ajulu in Bondo on Saturday, Raila told his supporters in Nyanza region that they can only be his ‘soldiers’ during the forthcoming polls if they register en-mass.
"The battle is on for the citizens to choose between the status quo and the change that they believe in," said the former Prime Minister.
The Cord leader said that the opposition would not be distracted by insults from Jubilee leaders, adding that the country must be liberated from oppression.
"We should all rise and send this incompetent and corrupt government home in 2017. We should not give them another chance to kill the Kenyan dream," urged Raila.
