Raila spoke as he led NASA leaders Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula in a tour of Nyamira and Kisii Counties ahead of a fresh presidential poll following the nullification of Uhuru’s re-election by court on September 1.

“Maraga ruled the August 8 election did not qualify as an election,” he said at a roadside rally in Keroka town.

“Maraga said the election was rigged. Later Uhuru came with anger and begun abusing Maraga saying he is a crook. I want to tell you Uhuru Kenyatta you must respect the courts. You are a president and Maraga is a president. You are the president of the republic and Maraga is the president of the Supreme Court. So, Maraga does not take orders from Uhuru.”

Uhuru has been on a charm offensive criticising Maraga following the Supreme Court annulment of his win after the August 8 general election.

One day after the court annulled his re-election he spoke at State House Nairobi during a meeting with Jubilee elected leaders saying: “Maraga don’t interfere. And don’t think that because our friends shout and we keep quiet that we are scared of you. No, we are not.”

The Supreme Court quashed Uhuru’s re-election on September on grounds that the election was not conducted in accordance with the election laws.
