Raila’s tour comes amidst political confusion in the region after key ODM figures amongst them Senator Chris Obure and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka hinted ditching the party for Jubilee.

Confirming the tour, ODM Youth League leader Erick Janganya said the tour would purely focus on revamping the party by selling the party’s manifesto and will also put emphasis on the need for extensive voter registration.

“It’s true our party leaders will be coming for two days from Friday and will tour several places to drum grassroots support of our party. It’s purely a tour that will put more focus on selling the ideologies of the party to electorates,” he said.

“We will also seize the opportunity to call for voter registration and sensitisation so that we can have more people registering. The tour is long overdue and I believe it will be a success,” he said.

On increasing rebellion in the party by a section of leaders from the region, Janganya warned the leaders against their continued stay within the party and insisted that the party would not ‘spare’ them.

“Well I don’t know what the party leader and his crew will say but the stand of ODM leadership is that the rebels are no longer our members. We will resist any of their attempts to continue remaining in the party because we know their ill motives,” he said.
