National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze has said that Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Amolo Odinga has not been treating Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as an equal partner in the coalition.
Speaking at Kyaani Girls Secondary School, Nyenze said that Cord has no option but to choose Kalonzo as the flag bearer as the coalition looks forward to unseating President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next general elections.
“It is either Kalonzo is the flag bearer or nothing because Kalonzo should be on the ballot as a presidential candidate,” said Nyenze as quoted by Citizen TV.
The minority leader, who has been questioning the relationship between Raila and Kalonzo for sometime, insinuated that Wiper Democratic Movement leader is likely to defect from the coalition in the event that he is not endorsed to run for Presidency in the next general polls.
The outspoken leader, however, ruled out that Kalonzo will join President Uhuru’s side arguing that the coalition’s house is full and someone with Kalonzo’s reputation will not find space there.
The Wiper leader has assured Kenyans that he has what it takes to end corruption and tribalism upon elections.
One of the things that remain unclear is whether Cord will grant him his wishes of running for presidency. Kalonzo has also said severally that he will support any other candidate who will be selected to vie for the top seat.
