The two leaders met on Tuesday for a brief meeting but both maintained their hard positions during Madaraka day in Nakuru and Nairobi respectively.

But Momanyi has hit out on the two leaders and urged them to swallow their pride for the sake of promoting peace in the country.

“There comes a time when we should sit down as a country and discuss pressing issues. Maintaining hard positions is not good for the country because I think both the President and Odinga have a moral obligation to unite this country,” he said during an interview.

“They have done very little ever since we had this IEBC crisis and the situation may escalate. It’s time that they swallow their pride and give the country a desired direction where we all remain equal,” he added.

Momanyi also urged politician close to the two politicians to desist from making ‘reckless’ remarks that may plunge the country into chaos and insisted on need to have dialogue over the IEBC standoff.

“Most of MPs are loyal to these two leaders, so it’s upon them to sit and give us a direction. As MPs, we must ensure that respect and decorum is maintained. It’s our duty to preach peace as we get close to general elections and that is why I support dialogue,” he said.
