NASA leader Raila Odinga is under pressure from his party to review the relationship with other party members of the coalition.
This comes after the three principals; Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka skipped the swearing-in ceremony of Odinga.
The move has now led to leaders within the party calling on Odinga to ensure he clearly defines his ties with the said leaders, who are leading ANC, Ford Kenya and Wiper respectively.
Speaking on Wednesday, ODM party Chair and National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbaddi said as a party, they were to look at what the other parties brought to the table. Mbadi tore into the trio’s ‘cowardice’ for failing to attend the much-hyped and eagerly awaited event.
“There is no cure for cowards…a coward will always remain a coward. Those who were brace made it to Uhuru Park,” he said.
Jared Okello, MP Nyando said they were disappointed with the leaders, who chose to desert Odinga at his most hour of need.
“We want to express our utmost disappointment with the three NASA principals, who skipped Raila’s oath. There is no explanation that can convince us that their absence was warranted. We will push our leadership to redefine our relationship with them,” he said.
The principals are said to be planning for a meeting today, Thursday, which will give a way forward.
