A source has revealed that trouble is brewing in the National Super Alliance (NASA), with claims that Raila Odinga is being pushed to endorse either Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi or Moses Wetangula for presidency.

On Wednesday, Amani National Congress leader Mudavadi visited Kalonzo’s Wiper headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi for talks.

It is unclear what the talks were about, but lasted just 10 minutes.

A source close to the NASA principals says the three could be plotting to have Raila endorse them, arguing that he has three time unsuccessfully vied for the presidency. The source says Mudavadi and Kalonzo could have discussed ways to push the ODM leader to step down in the race to State House."They want to push 'Tinga' to the wall to endorse one of them. Their argument is that they have supported Raila and he failed. It is time he reciprocated and supported one of them," said the source, as quoted by The Standard. On Tuesday, ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani said the National Coordinating Committee report that accidentally leaked to the media, proposing a Raila –Kalonzo ticket was accurate."That report leaked out in the form that the media presented. A few aspects and figures were not from the committee but the line-up presented had been agreed by the committee," Zani said in a statement. In a response, ANC, Wiper and Ford Kenya criticised ODM for allegedly negotiating in bad faith. They said no agreement had been reached as to who will be the NASA flag bearer or running mate."ANC reiterates that its representatives are not aware of a formal report for the attention of and shared with the principals on the matter of flag bearer," read the ANC statement signed by Secretary General Godfrey Osotsi.Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Wiper leader Kalonzo said, "We cannot afford to go that way...there was a tremendous leakage from the technical committee and if they can’t guard their secret then they are not loyal."The NASA leaders after a retreat in Kilifi on Sunday, promised to name who will fly the opposition's flag in the August general election.
