National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga should be very worried after the departure of former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto from the Opposition alliance.
According to Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono, Raila's presidential bid will suffer a major blow since Ruto was a crucial player in the former Prime Minister's team.
"The former Bomet governor is known as a great crowd puller and a moboliser, and it is a big win for Jubilee Party when the CCM leader teamed up with us. NASA has lost a point man in its campaigns," Rono wrote in an opinion piece published by the Standard on Tuesday.
The MP said the reunion of Ruto with KANU's chairman Gideon Moi and DP William Ruto, is a big boost for President Uhuru Kenyatta who will face Raila in a repeat poll slated for next month.
"Kalenjins who wanted to vote for NASA now have no alternative but to follow suit and come together as a community because the leaders have buried the hatchet and agreed to work together as brothers," he noted.
The legislator added: "More than 16 per cent of Bomet County residents voted for NASA in the August 8 elections and we are sure of these votes in the fresh poll. The entire Rift Valley voting bloc is now under Jubilee."
