The John Nyagarama led government has been at loggerheads with a number of ODM legislators in the county led by ODM national treasurer Timothy Bosire who has been leading a rebellion calling for accountability of county resources.

And Mr Odinga held a crisis meeting to rally for unity among the leaders in a region that is ODM predominant at Guardian Hotel during his Friday’visit.

“Jakom basically told the leaders to work closely with county government to spur growth for Nyamira. He was not pleased with the persistent intrigues between the county government and area leaders. He urged them to shun their differences and work together as a team,’ added the source.

“He urged them to work together as one because the county is Cord led so that he will have easier time in campaigning next year. The leaders were also told to solve their internal wrangles without squaring them out in the public,” the source added.

On party nominations, Raila reportedly told the leaders that the exercise will be free and fair,  telling those facing each other to campaign peacefully.

“He addressed the party nomination rivalry and told those running each to hold peaceful campaigns and insisted that the party nominations will be free and fair. He ruled out skewed nominations saying it had cost the party getting majority in parliament in the past,” the source said.

West Mugirango MP James Gesami who also doubles as county ODM chairperson has expressed interest in dislodging Governor Nyagarama who is also a party member.
