National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin Annah Nyokabi for Nairobi deputy governorship position.
Speaking on Monday at his Capitol Hill office, the opposition leader stated that the former Kiambu Woman Representative is the best-suited candidate to fill the position.
"I have known Nyokabi for a long time and her record as an MP speaks for itself, especially when it comes to promotion of gender equality, economic empowerment and wealth creation,” Raila said.
The former Prime minister said that Nyokabi's record as the first Kiambu County MP and her service in government is worthy and she deserved the position.
Raila who recently joined hands with president Uhuru Kenyatta to unite the country was speaking when Nyokabi paid him a courtesy call at his office.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader also urged Governor Sonko to speed up the process of appointing his new deputy in order to accelerate development in the city.

Nyokabi is credited with the building of a unique community centre with a public library, gender violence centre, a recording studio, an ICT centre and a hall with a capacity of 500 people during her term as MP.
