Controversial Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has foreseen the end of the Cord coalition which is led by the former Prime Minster Raila Odinga.
Mr Ngunyi who is known for his 'tyranny of numbers' phrase believes the recent engagement of firebrand Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho in ODM activities is an indicator that they are ready to eliminate Cord co-principals in the coalition.
According to Ngunyi, the decision by the ODM party not to invite Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) who are Cord coalition co-principals during the party's 10th anniversary in Mombasa is telling considering the event was coinciding with the Jubilee Party launch.
"Cord is actually seeking political lifeblood from Raila and ODM," Ngunyi said.
He added that Raila might have realized that they do not need junior coalition partners to win the 2017 elections and that there is a possibility he is trying to popularize Joho to be his running mate in 2017.
"Without ODM, Cord will essentially be dead," he added.
"Joho has the energy of William Ruto, he has the consummate political tactics and strategies that Ruto uses. For Raila to beat the dynamic duo, that's what he needs," Ngunyi asserted.
