[Photo: Daily Nation]National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has condemned the ongoing anti-IEBC mass protests by NASA claiming they are aimed at causing chaos in the country. In an opinion piece published by The Standard, Duale accused Opposition leader Raila Odinga of using the demos to get power through the back door."The script seems quite clear; call for constant demos during which property and businesses are destroyed and looted, they close shop in fear and investors shy away, shut the economy in the end and force the Government into giving in to their demands," Duale wrote. The Garissa Township MP castigated the demonstrators saying they were being used by few selfish leaders."Many people have sustained injuries and others have died in these endless demos. One question therefore crosses one's mind; do the Opposition leaders pay for hospital bills of those injured during such protests? I doubt," Duale added. The remarks come as the government outlawed protests in Mombasa, Nairobi and Kisumu. However, NASA has vowed to continue with the protests saying it was their constitutional right.
