National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga wants a lifestyle audit conducted on former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru.

Raila is accusing the Kirinyaga gubernatorial hopeful of refusing to respond to questions that will enable him defend himself in a defamation suit.

Waiguru on September 29, 2015 sued Raila for allegedly tarnishing her name during a press address on July 17, 2015.

The ODM leader, at the press address, claimed Waiguru was behind the National Youth Service scandal, and was being protected by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Now, Raila says the former CS has refused to respond to queries on her lifestyle.

Raila says Waiguru’s response will help him in building his defense.

The opposition leader wants Waiguru compelled to disclose the total allowances she earned as CS.

"I will be greatly prejudiced if these interrogatory questions are not answered as I will not be in a position to sufficiently prepare for trial," Raila says in a response filed at the Milimani High Court.

Raila says Waiguru should be deemed to have wilfully disobeyed the court order, should she fail to respond to the queries.

Waiguru, however, said the ODM leader was being unreasonable and irrelevant.

“He employing tactics to stall the suit as the 15 questions do not relate to issues raised in the defamation suit. The information sought is malicious and threatens to unnecessarily violate the privacy of minors who are not party in this suit," she said.
