Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has until April 4, 2017 to serve former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru with a list of interrogatory questions in a defamation suit against him over the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
Raila had implicated Waiguru in the scam, in which more than Sh1.6 billion was lost.
Waiguru sued Raila on September 29, 2015.
She said the opposition leader recklessly tarnished her name on July 17, 2015 in a press address.
“He portrayed me as a woman of low moral standing, who is involved in unethical and professional misconduct,” Waiguru, who is eyeing Kirinyaga governor seat, said.
High Court senior deputy registrar Temba Sitati directed the ODM leader to serve Waiguru with the questions before April 4, six weeks from now.
The answers that she will provide may be used as evidence in the case.
The opposition leader will now file a list of questions relevant to the suit, which he wants Waiguru to answer under oath to assist him in his defence.
Last year, Raila told court that he wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to testify as his key witness against Waiguru.
Raila said the President was protecting the former CS despite her alleged involvement in the scandal.
