NASA leader wanted to ignite chaos and violence after the Supreme Court ruling that nullified the August 8 general elections.
This is according to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Bungoma county where he went to meet local politicians who defected from opposition to Jubilee, the president said that it was Raila's idea to use the courts to anger Kenyans.
This, the president said, aimed at leading Jubilee supporters to come out in large numbers to protest and cause public chaos in the country, something he says never happened.
“He wanted to trigger violence but we were keen and respected the ruling," the president said.
"Our interest is to have peace and unity in this country. Our agenda is to unite Kenyans not bloodshed,” he added.
Uhuru accused NASA leaders of thriving on propaganda with the agenda of dividing the country along tribal lines.
“We should unite all Kenyans and not engage into divisive politics. I appreciate the votes I got from this region. You did commendable work, kindly turn out in large numbers and vote for me again in the repeat election. IEBC did not commit any offense and we are sure of a win,” he said.
