Opposition leader Raila Odinga is tricking the president into giving him the Prime Minister position in government, says Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
Speaking at a Tuesday press conference in Nakuru, the governor said that Odinga was only interested in getting back the Prime Minister position and would do anything to achieve that.
"Raila isn't genuine. Neither is he sincere in his anti-IEBC led demonstrations. He is in a manipulative mood to sneak the Prime Minister slot into the government through the dialogue he is championing," Mr Kinuthia said.
Mbugua urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to stay focused and not be swayed by the protests and intimidation to absorb people into the government.
"Raila can go to any lengths to achieve whatever he wants and what you see is a clever route to get into government. But we want to tell our president not to bulge but stay put, because we are behind him and will defend him and his government," said Mbugua.
The governor further told the opposition not to underestimate the Jubilee government, saying that it was strong and would not be coerced by Odinga.
Mbugua further asked the president not to be shaken as the people who elected him were fully behind him.
