A ward representative in Uasin Gishu County is now claiming that opposition leader Raila Odinga's insistence that there be another election in 90 days is a strategy to ensure he will still vie for the country's top seat in 2022.

According to the Karuna/Mibeki MCA Josphat Lowoi, Raila knows very well that there will be no other election apart from in 2022 and he is looking for an excuse to vie against Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking to the press at the county assembly buildings in Eldoret town on Wednesday, Lowoi insisted that there will be no other election apart from the one in 2022.

"Raila is playing his cards well with a target of ensuring he still vies in 2022," said Lowoi who is the Assembly's leader of the majority.

"All he is doing is trying to outsmart other principals in NASA so that come 2022 he will say he never ran in the repeat poll," he added.

NASA has insisted that there was no repeat poll after it withdrew from the race and has vowed to push for another election within 90 days.
