Kiambu MP Jude Njomo wants Cord leader Raila Odinga to stop politicking on Jubilee government projects and instead focus on issues taking place in his coalition.

The MP claims that Raila is aiming at derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development by politicking them.

Speaking at Ndumberi grounds on Saturday during thanksgiving prayers in regards to the recently law signed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to cap interest rates, the MP hit out at Raila over his allegations that the government I funding secret projects.

Njomo asked Raila to provide evidence on his claims instead of spreading propaganda against the Jubilee administration.

“My brother Raila Odinga should provide proof that Uhuru’s administration is funding secret projects instead of him engaging in baseless propaganda,” the lawmaker.

Njomo claimed that Raila wants to shift government attention from development.

He further claimed that opposition which is led by Raila is afraid of losing in 2017 and is looking for a way out.

Several politicians allied to Jubilee have hit back at Raila over his claims that Uhuru is funding secret projects.

On Monday last week, the Cord leader accused the government of secretly funding the controversial Sh6.8 Billion Northern Water Collector Tunnel in Murang’a County.

Raila claimed that the ongoing project that is partly funded by the government and World Bank would have adverse environmental effects once completed.

The Cord leader claimed that project will turn some counties in Central, North Eastern, Eastern and Coastal regions into deserts.

The Jubilee government has however defended the project saying that Raila endorsed the project when he was serving ad Prime Minister in 2012.

A section of stakeholders led by some politicians have called for the halting of the project until the claims raised by Cord leader are addressed.
