A section of Jubilee leaders have alleged that Cord leader Raila Odinga wants to ascend to the Presidency through unconstitutional means.
The leaders claim Raila is working with some Western nations to get power.
Led by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, the 20 legislators said the opposition chief was looking for a shortcut to power, that’s why he has never accepted election results in the past.
“He and his foreign masters aspire to take Kenya into the unchartered darkness of chaos and undemocratic takeover, institutional sabotage and constitutional overthrow,” they said in a statement on Wednesday.
They further said Raila had sensed defeat ahead of the 2017 general election and was “planning and premeditating violence after the general election”.
“Odinga is not a believer in democracy as he purports. He is power-hungry and believes in nothing but self.”
The leaders were responding to Raila’s remarks on Tuesday at Wiper party's Delegates Convention on Tuesday.
Raila said Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto should have been locked up by the ICC throughout the hearing of their cases at The Hague.
