Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has alleged a plot by opposition leader Raila Odinga to tarnish President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name ahead of 2017 general election.
Kuria alleges that opposition leaders are working with some people in government to tarnish Uhuru’s family name as next year’s general election approach.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Sunday, Kuria claimed that the alleged Sh5 billion scam at the Ministry of Health is a scheme to tarnish the Jubilee government's good track record.
The MP claimed that no money has been lost at the Health ministry as being speculated in the media.
“We know of a plot by opposition leaders to tarnish President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name ahead of the 2017 polls,” he claimed.
Kuria claimed that mention of President Uhuru’s kin in the Afya House scam is a well calculated move by opposition to tarnish the President family.
He further claimed that some media houses are working with the opposition leaders to incite Kenyans against the government.
The vocal Gatundu MP accused the opposition of politicising corruption and using it to gain political mileage ahead of 2017 polls.
The alleged Sh5 billion Afya House scam continues to elicit reactions with opposition leaders accusing the Jubilee government of tolerating graft.
