Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu has urged NASA leader Raila Odinga to keep his word by ensuring Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka flies the NASA presidential ticket in the 2022 general election.Speaking to journalists in Kibwezi Town on Tuesday, Mbalu said the Ukambani region is prepared for a Kalonzo’s presidency in 2022.The MP said Kalonzo has been loyal and patient, adding that Raila must stand with him and keep his word.She said Ukambani leaders will not allow the region to be shortchanged again, adding that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Raila and Kalonzo must be respected.“We have been patient enough and we ask Raila and other NASA allies to stand with Kalonzo in 2022,” she said.Mbalu asked Ukambani residents to remain united and marshal their support for the former Vice President.She said the region has the potential of producing a president, adding that this time around they will fight for their chance at the country’s top leadership.Kalonzo is expected to fly the NASA presidential ticket in 2022 as per the MoU he signed with Raila.There have however been fears that Kalonzo could be shortchanged after NASA failed to win the 2017 presidential election.Speculations have been rife that ODM leader Raila Odinga could contest again in 2022.Wiper politicians have vowed to ensure Kalonzo’s name is on the ballot in the next general election.
