NASA leader Raila Odinga has accused the Jubilee Party of being behind the chaos that erupted in Meru on Tuesday.

This came after a NASA rally that was scheduled to take place in Meru was canceled, with chaotic scenes reported as both Jubilee and NASA youth clashed.

Speaking on Tuesday evening in Nairobi after the rally was canceled; Odinga said Jubilee should take responsibility for the chaotic scenes.

“There were chaos and the police officers led by OCPD one Mr Kimani and OCS one Mr Wamae, who said they received orders from above. The police are being used for individuals’ gains, they should not be partisan. And we want to warn Boinnet that whatever he wants to achieve, is not possible,”

He further condemned recent killings of NASA demonstrators, with the latest being a form four student who was shot dead on Monday during demos in Kondele.

“On Friday, Mashujaa...we are saddened by the events, and it will not be a good celebratory day for most Kenyans. Three young men were killed mercilessly during demonstrations, we will join their families,” said Odinga.

He added: “On Saturday we will be in Kisumu to condole with the family of the young boy who was killed on Monday while buying ice cream,”
