National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has said he holds no grudge against opposition and Cord leader Raila Odinga.
The vocal Jubilee MP said his responses to Mr Raila are because of the responsibilities bestowed to him as Parliament majority leader after making.
Speaking in an interview at a local radio station on Wednesday, Mr Duale said Odinga was his first political teacher.
He also reveled of his close association with the Odinga family.
"I learnt politics from the opposition leader who we even meet at the gymnasium as a good friend and he knows my family. My responses to him are a responsibility am bestowed with as the majority leader," said Duale.
He refuted claims that the Jubilee government colludes with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to frustrate the opposition's push for the Okoa Kenya referendum.
Duale pointed out that the electoral body is constitutionally independent and cannot be interfered with.
He urged the opposition to shelf their pressure on the disbandment of the IEBC saying the body needed adequate time to prepare for the next general elections.
"Forming a new electoral body now is risky. IEBC should be given adequate time to prepare for the next general elections and therefore it's not prudent for the opposition to push for the disbandment of IEBC," he said.
