Cord leader Raila Odinga has stated that the coalition is not focused on the 2022 general election but next year's polls.

Odinga who was speaking in West Pokot on Saturday, Odinga said that it was necessary to campaign for 2017 instead of 2022.

"We have a reason for seeking 2017 votes. We are not interested in 2022 votes as the time is far away and currently we are trying to get to power in 2017. Those campaigning for 2022 do not even know if you will reach 2022," said Odinga.

Odinga who was speaking during the burial of former Sigor lawmaker Wilson Litole, took the opportunity to assure supporters that the coalition was not breaking anytime soon.

The burial was also attended Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who echoed Odinga's unity calls.
