Opposition leader Raila Odinga will head to court to challenge Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in the just concluded general electons.
Mr Odinga, a veteran politician of the country’s opposition termed IEBC’s pronouncement that gave President Kenyatta triumph a computer generated result.
NASA, an outfit that Mr. Odinga rode on in the 2017 State House contest had earlier rubbished courts as an alternative to seek redress but they now say government clampdown on civil societies has made them to head to Supreme Court to “lay before the world, the making of a computer generated leadership.”
NGO Coordination Board had cracked the whip on Africa Centre for Open Governance, AfriCOG and Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) over alleged illegal operation in the country.
AfriCOG and KHRC have in recent times displayed efforts to challenge the IEBC on several stands.
Mr. Odinga said IEBC’s electronic transmission of results proved unreliable after the commission published results that were not yet verified.
