Kiambu gubernatorial hopeful Ferdinand Waititu led a host of Jubilee leaders in Kaimbu to welcome NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga as he takes his campaigns in the county on Tuesday.
Among the leaders include Thika Town MP Alice Nganga and his Kikuyu counterpart Kimani Ichungwa. The leaders urged the area residents to maintain peace and calmness during Odinga's visit.
However, despite welcoming the opposition chief in the county the leaders asked the former Prime Minister to apologies on the sentiments he made in Kajiado county a few weeks ago.
"Raila has a right to visit Kiambu. He is indeed welcome and we are calling on our people to maintain peace during his visit. However, we are calling on him to apologise for the remarks he [made] in Kajiado because they were inciting and caused fear amongst the many Kiambu residents living in Kajiado who now think they will be evicted from their legally acquired properties," said Mr Ichung'wa.
