[Photo: Courtesy]Opposition leaders have sent a warning shot to the Ministry of Defense and the Interior and Coordination, over alleged involvement in the August polls. Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga has warned Defense Cabinet Secretary Raychel Omamo, against involving the military in participating in the elections, with intentions to favour incumbent Jubilee government.Raila warned that it was unlawful for Omamo to allow the government to interfere with the work of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF)."We are telling the Minister for Defense to stop interfering with the work of the military. Let KDF do its job. They're not supposed to engage in rigging or favouritism in elections. The work of military is to protect the citizen," warned Raila, Saturday.Speaking during a Nasa rally in Mbale, Vihiga county, co-principal Moses Wetangula on his part warned the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, against dragging the National Police Service in the election process.Just like Raila, the Ford Kenya party leader warned Boinnet, saying Nasa would not allow police be used to doctor results in the August 8, polls. The coalition implicated the military, national police and the NIS, to alleged plans by President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee administration, to rig elections, for his second term bid. However, the government has since dismissed the allegations, with Omamo and Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery warning Nasa to leave the military alone, and stop dragging KDF to politics.
