The NASA leader is known for his football-related metaphors in his rallies and addresses. He is on record saying he was once a Manchester United fan, but quit and instead decided to support arsenal.
"Later, I became a Manchester United supporter. I was their strongest supporter but things changed when their fans started becoming violent matches. FIFA later banned Manchester United fans from attending football matches for one year. During that time, Man U players were playing without any fan in the stadium,”
“For a whole year, Manchester United was playing without fans in the stadium. That is when I moved to support Arsenal. Since that time, I never left Arsenal,” he once said on a live radio interview.
The ODM leader has previously supported Liverpool, Hannover 96 and Bayern Munich; the latter two being during his studying period in Germany.He also played for Luo Union football club (later known as Re-Union FC) in the 1960’s.
