Opposition Chief Raila Odinga is ready for a face to face meeting with his rival, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Friday, the NASA leader said he wants to meet the Jubilee leader to try to solve the current stalemate facing the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

"Our team will be ready to meet with IEBC when it's ready. I will attend if Uhuru also attends. I am ready for any discussion since the commission is in a grave situation," he said, as quoted by the Standard.

Raila has insisted that IEBC can't be trusted to conduct a credible repeat presidential election, ordered by the Supreme Court, as currently constituted.

The former Prime Minister has threatened to boycott the poll if some officials including CEO Ezra Chiloba are not fired.

He cited the leaked memo from Chairman Wafula Chebukati to Chiloba as evidence showing the electoral agency conducted a 'shambolic' election in August 8.

The results which showed Uhuru won by 54 per cent of votes cast, were annulled by the Supreme Court after Raila petitioned.

But speaking in Kericho County on Friday, the President warned Raila against interfering with the electoral commission, telling Chebutaki to put his house in order to ensure Kenyans vote on October 17.

"I am warning him (Raila) because I am still the president and he is just an aspirant and not the president.

IEBC should get to work and stop the monkey business that might derail the repeat election," the Head of State was quoted by a local daily.
