Raila while addressing the media from Capitol Hill in Nairobi claimed that some of the leaders were bribed and some promised money in exchange for silence.

“They were warned that if they continue talking they would not be re-elected. Some we promised money and some were bribed. They were promised that water will also be supplied to Murang’a and not only Nairobi, but this was not the key concern. The key concern was the environmental impact of the project,” said Raila.

The opposition leader added that the government used force to silence the leader from Murang’a but will not be able to silence the opposition from talking on issues affecting Kenyans.

“The government has used force to scare the leader from Murang’a to stop them from talking about this issue. But it is our work as the opposition to talk about this issues, if they do a good job we will praise them but when they go wrong we have to rectify them,” he said.
