Opposition leader Raila Odinga has laughed at President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto criticism over his recent remarks on land matters in Kajiado County.
Raila said the two Jubilee leaders took offence after he told the Maa community not to sell their ancestral land because of their 'unending appetite for land'.
"When I talk about land they tremble because they know their deals in lands," Raila said on Wednesday during a campaign rally at Kamere Estate in Naivasha.
The former Prime Minister also accused the Jubilee administration of shortchanging Kenyans by diverting the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) route to benefit few individuals close to Jubilee top brass.
"All Jubilee is interested in is land grabbing. Don't be lied to that the SGR will benefit you. It is passing through private lands owned by Jubilee and we know this," he remarked.
The former Prime Minister added: "We wanted this SGR to run to where there is a port and an international airport but Jubilee's greed has changed the entire thing."
Raila has of late come under heavy criticism from Jubilee leaders who have accused him of inciting Kenyans against each other.
President Kenyatta on Wednesday during his tour of Murang'a County said Raila's remarks in Kajiado were meant to put a wedge between different communities living in the area.
“I am surprised at what he (Raila) is saying. He is not talking as a leader because no genuine leader can stand in front of Kenyans and claim that some people should leave a certain area,” said the President while addressing Gatanga residents.
Some of Jubilee top leaders including Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale have called on the NCIC and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to probe the ODM leader for incitement.
