President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked members of the Abagusii not to vote for opposition leader Raila Odinga saying he does not have their interest at heart.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Kisii county on Monday, the president slammed Odinga as a selfish man who had done nothing for the region despite being the prime minister and handling key ministries in the country.
"He was prime ministerand did nothing to you.He also headed the roads and energy ministries but no single tarmac road or electricity connectivity was realized. He doesn't have your interest at heart," he said.
The Jubilee contender added that should the Nasa presidential candidate win the presidency he would fire members of the Abagusii community since he has indicated so by constantly undermining acting Intetior CS Fred Matiangi.
"Do not elect a man who will fire your sons and daighters from the government," he added.
Kisii is one of the counties political pundits have classified as a swing vote and both players across the political divide have been traversing in a bid to sway the voters to their side with barely 7 days to the D-day.
