The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Keriako Tobiko, is in danger of losing his job after more calls for his removal were witnessed yesterday in Embu.
Senator Njeru, among other Embu political leaders, on Sunday, called for the immediate removal of the former DPP from the environment docket.
According to the senator, Keriako Tobiko is a technocrat who does not understand politics and should therefore not hold a government ministry.
"I am totally convinced now that some of these technocrats we pick from wherever we pick, fellows who do not understand politics should not run a government ministry," the senator said.
The lawmaker said that the move by Raila Odinga to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta will instead help in constitutional reform.
He argues that these constitutional changes will help deal with the appointment of such technocrats who are unfit to hold government ministries.
"We are a major shareholder in this government and the fact that now Raila has come, now that we are together. And one of the things that we expect is that we are going to relook at the constitution afresh,' Mr. Njeru said.
"We need to look at our constitution afresh. Some of the things we want to look at now from the mistakes that we may have done are the appointment of these ministers," Njeru demanded upon referring to the appointment of Keriako Tobiko.
Mr. Keriako Tobiko has been accused of poor management and tribalism.
Others who want the minister removed are timber manufacturers who have accused him of high-handedness and criticised him for the suspension of conservators.
