A Nyamira MP now wants all Gusii leaders to join the Orange Democratic Movement to avoid being left out in the 2017 government which she insists will be constituted by opposition chief Raila Odinga.
The ODM leader and DP William Ruto have visited the region umpteenth times as the scramble for almost a million votes shapes up in the region.
Speaking on Sunday in Nyamira town, Nyamira woman representative Alice Chae said the ODM leader was poised to be the next president given the ‘positive mood’ from ordinary Kenyans.
“I think Gusii leaders should open their eyes so that they are not left out of the 2017 government. The region supports the opposition Cord and we are sure of Raila Odinga’s victory,” she said.
“The mood on the ground is positive and it will be sad if we do not join the winning team. Uhuru’s government will be replaced and that is the sad reality for those who are not supporting him. Let us all join ODM to avoid being locked out of government in 2017,” she added.
Chae also accused the Jubilee government of grand corruption and questioned President Uhuru’s commitment in cracking the whip.
“People are looting freely and the President seems helpless. That is why he should prepare to go home for his own good. The ground is hostile,” she added.
