Nominated Senator Janet Ong’era has warned Jubilee government to be ready for a ‘convincing’ Loss in 2017 polls and backed her party leader Raila Odinga for an outright presidential victory.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has launched an onslaught in ODM’s Kisii stronghold and the outcome saw a host of leaders attending the party’s inauguration at Kasarani early this month.
Speaking on Sunday during the homecoming of Olympic Silver Medalist Hellen Obiri, Ong’era challenged area residents to shun Jubilee government over ‘incompetence and vote for opposition in 2017.
“As Gusii people, we must vote leaders who have been tested and succeeded. Raila has fought for liberation of this nation and the mood on the ground has shown his pending victory in 2017. Let us remain united behind him,” she said.
Ong’era added: “Jubilee will lose convincingly and this time there will be no rigging. This government has shown discrimination of the highest order and the best medicine is to vote them out. We have the real opportunity to take Raila to State House.”
Ms. Ong’era seized the opportunity to call for voter registration urging community leaders to mobilize eligible voters to register in large numbers for the purpose of pushing for change.
