The National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has been awarded a rare international award in London. The Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and arts (BEFFTA) feted him with an award for global leadership.
The award represents his goodwill in bringing good governance in the country.
Mr. Odinga was recognized worldwide for the peace deal he struck with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The African Union praised the “handshake” as unique which will be used as an example to resolve conflicts in other African countries.
“Most African countries have disputes that last the life of the parliament. We have perpetual conflicts in these countries. We decided that we did not want to be prompted by any foreigner to tell us how to resolve our issues. We decided that we are going to swallow our pride for the sake of unity for the people of Kenya. The award is not for Odinga, it’s for the people of Kenya,” stated the NASA principal.
The BEFFTA Award is a special award presented to outstanding personalities in the entertainment, sports, showbiz and leadership among the black and ethnic communities globally.
This award is to inspire black and ethnic personalities across all nations so that they make even greater achievements and provide a networking platform for industry personalities.
