Just weeks after assuming roles as chief negotiator in South Sudan crisis, opposition leader Raila Odinga has been heaped with praises from either side of political divide.
At Pretoria last week, rebel leader Riek Machar welcomed Odinga's involvement adding that he was optimistic of a long term solution.
"I met with Hon. Raila Odinga and we discussed a lot. The meeting was fruitful and this is what we have been pushing for," he told reporters.
So vicious has been the war that the youngest African nation has not enjoyed the independence they achieved from Sudan in 2011.
And President Salva Kiir, who exiled Riek, his former Vice President, welcomed Odinga's involvement as well adding that a lasting solution will be brokered.
"I trust Raila and his long term experience in politics. This will help us get an expeditious settlement to the matter," he said.
South Sudanese residents in Kenya have also joined the bandwagon insisting that a face-to-face meeting being organised by Rail for the two leaders would achieve prosperity.
"Raila's role compliments Khartoum, Sudan and the council of ministers of the IGAD," said James Oryema.
