Speaking in a rally at Runyenjes Town in Embu County Tuesday, the former prime minister slammed president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for taking Kenyans for a ride by donating to them funds instead of setting up development projects that would guarantee them daily flow of funds.
"Harambees cannot guarantee any meaningful development in this country Jubilee must stop taking Kenyans for a ride. They must know that this habit is only making Kenyans more dependent. Only meaningful development projects will lift the lives of Kenyans," he said.
He added that most of the funds donated during such events have been stolen from the public coffers a move he said was encouraging graft standards in the country.
Odinga who is camping in the upper Eastern region is expected to tour Tharaka Nithi later Tuesday afternoon.
