Speaking during an interview with KTN on Tuesday, the former prime minister said most communities felt excluded by the government of the day prompting them to start harbouring thoughts of forming their own country even as he himself opposed the calls.
"This debate has basically been triggered by an isolationist government of the day. Most communities feel excluded in top government positions. If you asked NCIC boss Francis ole Kaparo to give you a list of top government positions you will be shocked because it is so disproportionate and ethnically skewed", he said.
The ODM boss further defended Nasa's chief strategist David Ndii against accusations that he is the face of the separatist ideology saying he is only trying to engage the country in the debate.
" David Ndii is not the originator of the idea.It was shared with him and he is just trying to engage the country in such a debate which is not wrong", he said.
