As we edge closer to 2017 General elections, Raila's last shot at the presidency seems to be surrounded by uncertainties and confusion.
This leaves his chances of trouncing the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta even slimmer than in 2013.
The situation is further complicated by three things that dangerously threaten to shatter his ambition of ever becoming Kenya's Commander-in-Chief. And what are these threats?
The first one is the newly launched Jubilee Party.The party is a formidable force that has already started to see Raila's confused Cord coalition get confused even more.
Raila and his other coalition co-principals don't know whether to register Cord as a party like Jubilee or let the status quo remain.
The other thing are his so called Cord co-principals.
Raila cannot understand why his coalition co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Moses Wetangula won't just let him try his very last chance and leave the field for them if defeated again.
They want to keep him waiting merely because there was a memorandum among them in 2013. Who honours political memoranda in this country?
Finally, the pollsters.
Raila would wish that at least for now, we don't have these 'idiotic' pollsters. They seem to have conspired with the devil against him to always give him bad news every time they are out to release a political survey.
Today they say his popularity is shrinking, tomorrow Kenyans consider him past sell-by date!
Why do these pollsters want Raila retired at 74 while uncle Bob at 92 is still steering Zimbabwe to greatness?
