Interior Cabinet Secretary and Acting Education CS Fred Matiang’i is overworking himself, opposition leader Raila Odinga has said.
Raila said the two ministries the CS is managing have huge demands and Matiang’i should delegate some duties to his juniors to allow effective service delivery.
“Matiang’i is overworking himself,” he said in Vihiga on Saturday.
“Let him delegate some duties to his juniors. He is all over the place.”
Matiang’i has been seen at key security and education ministry meetings chairing crucial conferences and coordinating activities of both ministries.
He is among cabinet secretaries President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to retain as he embarks on his second term.
Matiang’i has been running the two ministries since former Interior CS and former Kajiado Central MP Joseph Nkaissery died.
