A day after DP Ruto dismissed yet again calls to have referendum, more opposition leaders have joined the debate which has literally put the country in a referendum mood.

In Mombasa on Tuesday, Ruto said the campaigns were waged by 'idle people who have nothing to do'.

"Lazy people who do not want to work hard and incompetent people, election losers wants to use the constitution as bogey man," he said.

But in Nyamira, a section of NASA leaders have accused the DP of holding the country at hostage for his 2022 presidential aspirations.

ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire insisted that the party will continue pushing for radical changes for the sake of unity in the country.

"We have identified what ails Kenya and nobody is going to antagonize us. The presidential system must be scrapped off whether he likes it or not."

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said: "It is time we stop these blackmails. The constitution ought to be changed for the sake of unity. That must be done."

While Raila Odinga has not be categorical on what he wants changed, sources say he is rooting for parliamentary system of government.
