Outspoken Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati made a dramatic public appearance after weeks of disappearing from the public.

Moments after post-election skirmishes at the Nairobi's Kawangware suburbs, Arati reportedly expressed fears that he would be arrested by the police before vanishing from the public.

"We are back and nothing will stop us from fighting for social justice. This is the time to be counted on the right side of history," he said.

The alleged intimidation against him led to protests from a section of leaders from his Kisii ancestral home who demanded respect from government.

And at Kibra on Thursday, Arati hailed Gusii leaders for support adding that he is determined to work within constitutionalism.

"I want to thank all leaders especially those from Nyamira and Kisii who came out strongly to demand respect," he said, insisting that nothing will deter him from working for his people.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro along with other leaders demanded that the government stops alleged intimidation targeting Arati. He is a close ally of Raila Odinga, the opposition leader.
