At just 28 years, Ayacko became the youngest MP when he was elected to represent Rongo constituency during the 1997 election.

20 years later, the former Cabinet Minister is facing uncertain political times after facing humiliation in the three past elections.

Ochillo was among the first legislators to be elected on a NDP ticket, and even as the party folded to join KANU in 2001, he never hesitated crossing over.

When the KANU-NDP marriage broke down in 2002, he, together with other leaders decamped and formed NARC which he used to defend his seat.

He made it to the cabinet but was sacked in 2005 when former  President Mwai Kibaki cracked the whip on 'errant' ministers. From there, things just went bad for him.

He lost his parliamentary seat to Dalmas  Otieno in 2007, an attempt to make a comeback in 2013 flopped as the incumbent successfully defended his seat.

In 2017, he shifted his focus to the Migori gubernatorial seat but failed to unseat Governor Okoth Obado.

He cried foul, challenged the election in Court but his appeal was dismissed leaving the former Energy minister in a political dilemma.
