Years after losing her Aldai seat, former long serving head of public service and minister for Agriculture Sally Kosgei resurfaced amid hand-shake politics.
Ms. Kosgei, remains the only woman who served in President Daniel Moi's government in the highest rank before taking up a ministerial job in Mwai Kibaki's government.
And at the time when Deputy President William Ruto had fallen out with Raila Odinga, Ms. Kosgei, who had replaced Ruto in the Agriculture ministry, remains loyal to the latter.
But due to geopolitics in the larger Rift Valley region, which favoured Ruto's defunct URP, Ms. Kosgei lost her seat which she had been elected on an ODM ticket.
However, after five years in cold, Dr. Kosgei visited her former boss, Raila Odinga and held talks in a meting that lasted for two hours.
Raila, who has had four unsuccessful attempts on presidency, has insisted that he is not interested in 2022 race.
In 2007, Ms. Kosgei, due to her experience in politics, was among Raila's chief strategist in an election that saw close to 1,300 people lose their lives.
