Deputy President William Ruto can succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta should he reconcile with Raila Odinga, ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire has said.
This comes after the Orange party released a tough statement on Monday in which it linked Ruto to sabotage in government.
"Ruto is his own enemy. He should not blame Raila for his own problems. He is sabotaging government through intimidation," read the statement.
The DP has been fighting against plans to introduce a referendum which is being propelled by Raila.
And Bosire, a former Kitutu Masaba MP, said only Raila's support will guarantee Ruto a direct entry to State House.
"He cannot make it without reconciling with Raila and that is a fact. The sooner he does that the better. He won't otherwise come anywhere closer to presidency," he said.
At a burial in Kipkelion early this year, Raila openly told locals that Ruto cannot ascend to presidency without his support.
Having bolted out of the race, Raila is said to be keen to support Ruto's political nemesis Gideon Moi.
