Speaking during a rally in Bomet on Wednesday, Odinga promised to deliver and ensure the economy stabilizes.

“This government is exploiting people in broad daylight. You look around and businesses are closing down. People are losing jobs. They have offered Kenyans empty promises,” he said.

The opposition leader further accused the government of laxity and inability to protect farmers, saying tea farmers have had to survive on low prices for long without government intervention.

“When I was Minister for Roads, I noticed the Sotik-Ndanai Road was to go all the way to Awendo in Migori County, but it has stopped under the Jubilee government. It is saddening that people were not compensated,” the former Prime Minister told locals at Ndanai trading centre.

“We will also help improve tea and livestock farming,” said Mr Odinga, who was accompanied by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

Ruto attacked the Jubilee government as well, saying the roads that had been built do not meet the required standards.

This is the second time in two weeks that Odinga and his brigade are visiting Bomet, as they try get a share of the voter rich area.
