The National Super Alliance (NASA) through their leader Raila Odinga are planning to have this Jamhuri Day as a big day for the alliance.

With Raila set to be declared President on this day, invitation letters have already been sent to high ranking persons to celebrate the day with NASA.

Already, Raila has termed it a big day and appointed a committee that will oversee his swearing in on December 12 which marks Kenya’s 54th independence day celebration.

But details of the ceremony remain scanty as Raila's invitation cards do not show where the swearing in will take place.

“You are invited. Come witness the swearing-in of the peoples’ president Raila Amollo Odinga on 12th December at 12 noon. Location to be communicated after vetting of RSVP,” reads the card.

It is also not clear who will conduct the ceremony and its constitutional threshold.

Also not clear is what instruments of power Raila will have, the kind of ceremony it will be and whether there will be a guard of honour mounted by defence forces as is the norm at presidential swearing-in ceremonies.
