Even as lawyer-cum-politician Miguna Miguna locks horns with NASA leader Raila Odinga in the latest love-hate relationship that has characterized the duo's political life, a veteran Nyanza politician is seemingly coming to the rescue of the embattled NRM "General".
With Miguna's nomination to be Nairobi Deputy Governor by Governor Mike Sonko being the latest flash point in a never-ending political feud between Raila and the exiled lawyer, former Rangwe MP Shem Ochuodo, a bitter Raila critic, has asked Dr. Miguna to honour his nomination and take over the position.
"I'm hoping that Miguna will accept the nomination and the MCAs will approve his nomination," said Dr. Ochuodho during an interview on NTV on Monday.
The former lawmaker further defended Governor Sonko's decision to nominate the firebrand lawyer saying he has the powers.
Dr. Miguna's nomination to be Nairobi's number two has elicited mixed reactions amid claims by some that it's a political scheme by Deputy President William Ruto to weaken the former Prime Minister. However, Miguna has dismissed the claims even as he leaves many guessing on whether he will take over the position or not.
With his relationship with Raila hitting an all time low amid the controversy surrounding his March deportation, the next few weeks will shape up Nyanza's political landscape.
